It’s safe to say Manchester United are expected to do plenty more business before the transfer window slams shut next month.

According to Ben Jacobs (via The United Stand), there are three positions INEOS will look to bolster in the final few weeks.

Who are United targeting in the closing stages of the window?

He claims that the Red Devils have made a new left-back a high priority, as well as a third midfield addition following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

Should an opportunity arise, they may also pursue a late move for a No.9 to ease the burden on Benjamin Sesko.

The 23-year-old has yet to feature for the side throughout pre-season due to the injury that ended his maiden campaign prematurely.

He notched 11 Premier League goals in total last term, which is an impressive feat for a young player navigating their first year in England.

Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee can all lead the frontline in his absence, but it wouldn’t go amiss to add more firepower to Michael Carrick’s attacking contingent ahead of United’s return to the Champions League.

Left-back becoming more of a priority for INEOS

Elsewhere, links to left-backs are gaining momentum as INEOS seemingly sweat over the prospect of relying on Luke Shaw, who’s been United’s most injury-prone player for the last decade, throughout the entirety of the campaign.

The Reds have reportedly been offered Arsenal starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly, 19, but he is said to want to stay and fight for his place at the Emirates.

It’s evident that Lewis Hall is their first-choice target this summer. However, Newcastle United are maintaining that he is off limits, having already sanctioned the exits of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.

RB Leipzig captain and German international David Raum, 28, is believed to be another option on United’s shortlist who may be more feasible this time around.
