Manchester United have green-lit an imminent loan switch for Chido Obi to Willem II this afternoon.
The forward will undergo his medical in the Netherlands today before officially joining for the remainder of the campaign.

No buy clause has been included by the Red Devils, meaning Chido Obi will return to Carrington at the end of the season.

From there, the club will have to decide whether to give the teenager, who turns 19 in November, a chance to prove himself in the first team, or send him on another loan.
A stint in England, perhaps in the Championship, may aid his development if he wants to prove himself to Michael Carrick later down the line.
Chido Obi will add to a host of outgoings at Old Trafford this summer, with fellow academy prospect Ethan Wheatley spending 2026/2027 with Lincoln City.

Elsewhere, Jacob Devaney joined Hibernian, Jayce Fitzgerald joined Rotherham United and Dan Gore joined Luton Town – all of which are loans.
Some of the side’s more high-profile departures include Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia, who left upon the expiration of their contracts in June.

£148m was shelled out on Andrey Santos, Carlos Baleba and Youri Tielemans, while the only other senior signing was backup goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who was a free agent.
There have been no defensive reinforcements for Michael Carrick, which could prove hugely problematic as the term progresses and the team are juggling fixtures across all four competitions.
