Mkhitaryan latest, City interested in Valdes, De Gea ‘100% staying’ – transfer roundup

According to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent, Mino Raiola, the Borussia Dortmund star is interested in a move to Manchester United this summer.

As reported by the MEN, Raiola said: “Man Utd is a unique opportunity, Micki wants to go there.”

Despite this, the midfielder’s contract does not run out until 2017, and although Mkhitaryan does not wish to extend his contract, United still may have issues negotiating his exit from Germany. This is because Dortmund chief-executive Hans Joachim-Watzke has rather firmly said that the Armenian international is not for sale this summer.

“We have intensely discussed the question of an early transfer in all club bodies and came to the conclusion that Mkhitaryan will stay in Dortmund next season,” Watzke told Bild.

Another player that will not be extending his contract this summer is Victor Valdés, who, to put it simply, has had a rough time at Manchester United.

Valdés’ contract runs out at the end of June, and reports from the Daily Mail suggest he could move to the other side of Manchester to reunite with former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

The duo won Champions League and La Liga titles together, and are said to still be good friends.

United’s other Spanish goalkeeper, David De Gea, will ‘100% stay’ at the club this summer, according to AS (contextualised by Sport Witness).

The report states that De Gea is inspired by José Mourinho’s project at United, and wants to forget about a move to Real Madrid and stay at Old Trafford.

AS recently claimed that there was a €50million release clause for De Gea that United would have to accept if it was met, but in in the most recent report, they state that the clause expired today (15 June).

This is a great result for United, as it seems they have won the battle to keep hold of their three-time player-of-the-year.
