Graeme Souness: Playing against Pogba would’ve been easy

Graeme Souness rarely passes up an opportunity to have a dig at Paul Pogba and he’s actually paid him a bit of compliment in his latest rant but ended it by condemning his attitute.

Souness, or ‘Sourness’ as Wayne Rooney wittingly called him in 2013, says that Pogba is a great player but that it would’ve been ‘a doddle’ to play against him.

“Pogba has absolutely everything to be a top player – great athleticism, super technique – but his attitude to the game is the polar opposite of mine,” The former Liverpool midfielder says.

“He goes out with one thought in his mind: ‘I’m going to show everyone how clever I am today and be the star of the show.

“My attitude, the way I was taught, was: ‘Go out and work harder than the guy you’re in against and see where that takes you.’ He’d be an absolute doddle to play against.”

Paul Pogba is fully fit now but has not featured since 2019. Whenever the season is resumed, many eyes will be on how Pogba is integrated into this improved United.
