Manchester United’s January transfer business may not be over yet with increasing talk that the club is interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

According to Sky sources, United are one of several clubs chasing Seri, 26, and may be keen to do a deal for the Ivorian international this month.

Seri joined Nice from from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira in 2015 for a fee of €1m. The Ivorian’s contract at the French club is set to expire in June 2019.

United’s interest in the Ivorian arises from Michael Carrick’s impending retirement at the end of this season and question marks surrounding Marouane Fellaini’s future at the club as the Belgian only has 6 months left on his deal.

Seri came close to joining Barcelona for £35m in the summer only for the La Liga club to walk away from the deal at the last moment.

Seri has one goal and six assists in 26 appearances for Nice this season.
