Juventus offered a player exchange offer for Paul Pogba last summer

Another day, another Paul Pogba story.

Transfer speculation will no doubt be the last thing that Manchester United fans want to hear right now, on the back of Tuesday night’s disappointment in the Champions League.

Leading up to the Leipzig clash, the club’s biggest game of the season, none of the headlines centred around the fixture itself. Instead, it was Pogba’s name dominating the press, following Mino Raiola’s comments about the player wanting to leave Old Trafford.

The Frenchman inevitably started on the bench, with United’s slow start to the game being their eventual downfall. Had he featured from the off, the result could have been different.

It feels as though Pogba is destined to depart, and the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has recently shed some light on a club that has been interested in his services.

Speaking on his Here We Go Podcast, the journalist revealed that Juventus made an unofficial bid for the player back in April. The offers included both Miralem Pjanić and Douglas Costa, but United refused.

Romano further explained how Juventus ‘can’t buy Pogba without selling’, hence their player-exchange offer. The Frenchman is one of the most lucrative names in football, based on his transfer and marketing value.

The Red Devils shelled out a club-record fee of £89million to bring him back to Manchester in 2016, and they certainly won’t be entertaining any low-ball offers, even if he wishes to leave. Romano stated that if anybody wants to buy Pogba, they will have to pay.

United will not be reducing their price.
