Shortly after news of Bruno Fernandes’ move to Manchester United being close, videos of Ed Woodward’s Cheshire house being attacked circulated on social media.
United fans have been showing their discontent with the clubs leading figures in recent games but nothing quite like this. Both Manchester United and the Cheshire police have made statements since.
“Fans expressing opinion is one thing, criminal damage and intent to endanger life is another. There is simply no excuse for this.
“We know that the football world will unite behind us as we work with police to identify the perpetrators of this unwarranted attack.”
Cheshire police confirmed they had received a call about an ‘act of criminal damage’ involving ‘many people’.
“Thankfully no-one was harmed, and officers will liaise with security officials over the coming days to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and identify those involved.”
