Manchester United and Liverpool appear to be out of the running for Kingsley Coman, who will sign a lucrative deal with Bayern Munich. Manchester United have made signing a midfielder their top priority this summer, with Declan Rice reportedly at the top of their wishlist. United are preparing a summer bid for Rice but would be expected to spend £100m+ to secure him. West Ham had a disappointing December and have given United a significant boost in their hopes of signing Rice.

United are reportedly also in talks to sign free agent Dan-Axel Zagadou from Borussia Dortmund.

United are ‘dead set’ on bringing in Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this month. Neves is one of several players United have scouted whilst searching for a new midfielder. This January, United will have to compete with Chelsea for Neves.

Despite initial plans, Ralf Rangnick appears unable to lure Erling Haaland to Manchester United. Manchester United has dropped out of the race to sign Haaland in the summer, believing he has already decided to join Real Madrid.

As speculation continues, Haaland has reportedly been told by his club that he must decide his future by the end of January. United manager Ralf Rangnick is reportedly in contact with Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, attempting to sign the Dortmund striker. The agent of Manchester United target Julian Alvarez is reportedly on his way to the UK for a transfer meeting. United is willing to pay the £16.8 million release clause to sign Alvarez this January, having beaten Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan to the 21-year-signature. Old’s United has been linked with a move to sign River Plate’s Alvarez.

Ralf Rangnick wants to bring RB Leipzig midfielder Haidara to Old Trafford, but the Bundesliga club is concerned about a contract release clause. If United pays his £32 million release clause now, Haidara will become Ralf Rangnick’s first signing next month.
